Friday, 29th May 2009. A couples weeks after winning a Special Award at Shakespeare School's Essay Competition: "What makes a blog successful?", I have decided blogging is worth a try. And I want to believe I've succeeded.
June, 2009. My English teacher was telling me about the Essay Competition and I was attentively listening. I was ready to participate, at just 14, in a competition addressed to youngsters from 14 to 20 something.
Due to the Special Award I received then, my blog is currently in the wild, waiting for its readers to absorb my every word.
This post is addressed to The Real Founder of this blog. To my dearest teacher, ever. To Mrs. Aurora Boziac. Gone, but not forgotten and always in my heart. Thank you for everything you've ever done for me.
And now, to my readers: if there's anybody you should thank for the existence of this blog, that's Mrs. Boziac.
I'd like to end this post with a poem which is very dear to me, by Mary Elizabeth Frye.
- Do not stand at my grave and weep,
- I am not there; I do not sleep.
- I am a thousand winds that blow,
- I am the diamond glints on snow,
- I am the sun on ripened grain,
- I am the gentle autumn rain.
- When you awaken in the morning’s hush
- I am the swift uplifting rush
- Of quiet birds in circling flight.
- I am the soft star-shine at night.
- Do not stand at my grave and cry,
- I am not there; I did not die.
